Chef Gino Gabriel has an unwavering passion for the art of cooking and his impressive history of culinary accolades highlights his talent for a variety of cuisines. His career began in Pennsylvania when he graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He continued his education at New England Culinary Institute. After finishing his degree, he was accepted into the Master’s program at the Italian Culinary Institute in the Piedmont region. At completion, he worked as an apprentice at a two star Michelin restaurant Ristorante La Frasca in Emilia-Romagna, the gastronomic heartland of Italy. He also worked on the west coast under James Beard winner Cal Staminov at Pacific’s Edge in Carmel, California which Wine Spectator awarded the highest honor of excellence. He further honed his skills in New York City in the kitchen at world-renowned Esca under Chef Mario Batali. Chef Gabriel finally ventured out on his own and cooked around the world as an executive chef on luxury charter and private yachts. After 9 years of being at sea, he stepped back on land to develop the highly successful Fired-Up Kitchen in Austin, TX. He excitedly joins the Becker Vineyards team, and is looking forward to bringing his delectable cuisine to the Hill Country.
