These merlot vines were planted by the Becker family twenty years ago in granitic fields first surveyed by Texas Ranger John Coffee Hays before the Civil War. This exceptional fruit and wine was rediscovered and produced by our winemaker, Jonathan Leahy, in 2012.

Aromatics: Super ripe cherry, earth, tobacco and a hint of dried fruit

On the palate: Starts with red fruit and dried cherries, leading into a fully rich mid patate of spice and warm tobacco notes. Finish lingers of fruit and current with a satisfying amount of coffee and spice.
